It looks like Robbie Lawler could be sidelined for a significant amount of time, as Dana White’s reporting the fighter seriously injured his knee, during his December 16th bout with Rafael dos Anjos.

Lawler faced dos Anjos in the main event of UFC on FOX 26, and lost the fight via unanimous decision. During the fight, it appeared that Lawler told his cornermen that he had incurred a lower body injury.

White recently spoke with Yahoo Sports’ Kevin Iole, and the UFC President reported the following, about the former welterweight champ (quote via MMA Fighting):

“The guy’s leg was destroyed,” White said. “Okay? Blew his ACL and his meniscus and every other thing that’s in your knee out in like the third round. Wobbled over to the fence, laid against it, and asked dos Anjos to come in so that they could just bang it out. Robbie Lawler went to the fifth round.”

The 35 year-old Lawler’s only other bout in 2017 took place in July, when he earned a decision win over Donald Cerrone.
