Dana White Reports “We Just Lost Our Date” For Conor McGregor – Floyd Mayweather
By FCF Staff
There’s been no official announcement for if and when Conor McGregor is going to box Floyd Mayweather, but the camps evidently had a date picked out for the long discussed bout.
UFC President Dana White was on hand for Saturday’s fight between “Canelo” Alvarez and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Following Canelo’s victory, it was announced that he will take on fellow boxing superstar, Gennady Golovkin, September 16th. Fight Hub caught up with White at the event, and the latter relayed the following (quote via Bloody Elbow):
“We just lost our date to Canelo and GGG, but that’s a good fight,” White said. “I’ll be at that one too!”
“Canelo looked good tonight. Canelo looked awesome. GGG is fun, man. He is the type of guy that boxing needs, so it will be a fun fight — and so is Canelo.”
McGregor has been taking a break from fighting, as a result of the birth of his first child, Conor Jack McGregor, who was born on Friday in Dublin.
