Dana White Says Relationship With Georges St-Pierre Has “Never Been Better”
By FCF Staff
After Georges St-Pierre said earlier this week that he’s made “peace” with Dana White, the latter is reporting his relationship with the star has “never been better.”
St-Pierre made the comment in a video he posted, which was in response to Michael Bisping’s call for him to sign a bout agreement for UFC 206. The back-and-forth transpired after St-Pierre recently claimed that he was now a free agent, since the UFC had failed to offer him a bout, before a deadline his lawyer set. The UFC has argued, however, that St-Pierre remains under contract.
GSP recently met with UFC officials and White in Las Vegas, and since then the UFC President told Dave Diebert of the Saskaton StarPhoenix the following:
“My relationship has never been better with GSP. I’m glad we got together,” White said via text.
St-Pierre’s team has been attempting to land the Canadian star a new contract. The former welterweight champ is sponsored by Under Armour, but due to the UFC’s Reebok uniform deal, St-Pierre is prohibited from wearing other clothing during fight week.
