Following Roy Nelson’s post-fight incident with referee “Big” John McCarthy at UFC FN 95 last weekend, Dana White believes the Brazilian Commission should throw the book at “Big Country”.

After Nelson knocked out Antonio Silva at the Brasilia event, the heavyweight lightly kicked McCarthy in the back, and then gave him the finger. The veteran fighter argued afterwards that he thought McCarthy waited too long to stop the fight, and that as a result, he was forced to hit Silva with unnecessary shots. Nelson apologized for the incident, but he also said he wouldn’t take his actions back.

Well, White appeared on the latest edition of the UFC Unfiltered podcast, and the UFC President had this to say about the situation (quote via MMA Junkie.com):

“You can’t apologize for that,” said White, who has feuded with Nelson in the past. “You don’t ever, ever put your (expletive) hands on a referee, or your feet. For any reason whatso(expletive)ever. For any reason. He needs to be buried. He went over there and put his foot on him to push him over – was flipping him off and yelling whatever. You want to flip a ref off – there’s never a situation where you ever, ever put your hands on a (expletive) referee. Ever. You can’t apologize for that. We’ll see how the athletic commission handles that, but he needs to be buried for that one.”

The stoppage win was Nelson’s second in his last three fights, following a three fight losing streak.
