Dana White Says UFC Will “Need” Both Conor McGregor And Joe Duffy For Croke Park Card

Joseph Duffy

Conor McGregor has become one of the biggest names in MMA, but Dana White believes the UFC will also need the fighter’s countryman, Joseph Duffy, if they hold a card in massive Croke Park.

Duffy is scheduled to fight lightweight contender Dustin Poirier at UFC Fight Night 76 this Saturday in Dublin, in what will be “Irish Joe’s” third bout with the promotion. Thanks to the consecutive wins Duffy’s scored since he arrived in the UFC, and because of his abilities, many believe the 27 year-old is poised to become a star.

For some time now, McGregor has called on the UFC to hold an event in Dublin’s Croke Park, which holds over 70,000 fans. Recently White spoke to UFC.com about Duffy, and when asked about Croke Park, the Zuff exec stated:

“To do Croke Park we’re going to need Conor and Duffy to do that one,” White said. “I think it’s incredible that these guys want to fight there. I think it’s incredible that the fans want it so bad, and I want it as bad as they want it, too.”

McGregor, meanwhile, is scheduled to fight featherweight champ Jose Aldo on December 12th in Las Vegas.
