Danillo Villefort Confirms Aug. 12th Bout with Nate James

Danillo Villefort will make his Strikeforce debut at the promotion’s upcoming August 12th Challengers card in Las Vegas against  Bellator vet Nate James.Villefort made the announcement on his Twitter account and the match-up has also been confirmed on the promotion’s official website.

Villefort is coming off back-to-back victories over established veterans Joey Villasenor and more recently Matt Horwich, who the 28 year defeated by unanimous decision at Shark Fights 14. Villefort has won four straight bouts since he was stopped by Jesse Lennox at UFC 101 in August, 2009.

James (12-7-1) earned a UD win over Marcus Sursa in his last outing, while competing on an Undisputed MMA event last month. Prior to that, James was defeated by Tyler Stinson in April, who outscored the 33 year-old-fighter for the split decision win at Bellator 40.

The 18th Challengers card will be hosted by The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort and will be broadcast on Showtime. The event will be headlined by a lightweight tilt between Jorge Gurgel and Joe Duarte.
