Danny Castillo To Face John Cholish At UFC On FOX 3

UFC lightweight and Wall Street commodities broker John Cholish

Lightweights (155 pounds) Danny Castillo (13-4) and John Cholish (8-1) will face off in what is expected to be a preliminary card bout at UFC on FOX 3 at IZOD Center in East Rutherford, N.J.  on May 5, UFC officials announced today.

The 32-year-old Castillo, a member of Urijah Faber’s Sacramento, Calif.-based Team Alpha Male, is looking to extend a two-fight winning streak comprised of a first round TKO (punches) of Shamar Bailey at UFC 139 and a split decision over Anthony Njokuani at UFC 141.

Cholish, a 28-year-old protege of Renzo Gracie who hails from Hackettstown, N.J., became the first Ivy League college graduate (Cornell University) in history to enter The Octagon on Dec. 10 and scored a second round TKO (punches) on Mitch Clarke on the undercard of UFC 140: Jones vs. Machida.

Cholish, who wrestled for his alma mater, has put together an eight-fight winning streak while maintaining a day job as a commodities broker for Beacon Energy.

In the UFC on FOX 3 main event, Nate Diaz will battle Jim Miller in a lightweight contest.
