Danzig and Wiman Among Bonus Winners at UFC Live 6

By FCF Staff

While their first encounter last June was stopped prematurely, Matt Wiman and Mac Danzig battled for three full rounds last night in Washington, D.C., and received “Fight of the Night” honors for the memorable tilt.

The lightweights received an additional $65,000 for their efforts at the UFC Live on Versus 6 card, which saw Wiman score a unanimous decision win.

When the two met at UFC 115 last June, Wiman was credited with the technical submission win, despite the fact that Danzig was visibly conscious.

“Knockout of the Night” and a $65,000 bonus went to Anthony Johnson for his head kick stoppage of Charlie Brenneman. The bout wasn’t without controversy, however, as although Brenneman was floored by the kick, the referee’s immediate intervention was protested by the welterweight and some fans in attendance.

And “Submission of the Night” went to heavyweight Stefan Struve, who worked his way into highlight reel, triangle-choke finish of noted striker Pat Barry in round two.

The 6’11 tall Struve was also awarded an additional $65,000.
