Since Demetrious Johnson has defeated many of the UFC’s top flyweights, and has gone undefeated in 10 straight bouts, there’s been talk about whether the champion might return to 135 pounds. While “Mighty Mouse” hasn’t completely ruled out fighting at bantamweight once again, Johnson says it’s not going to happen any time soon.

Recently Johnson spoke to FOX Sports.com, and while discussing a return to the weight class he once competed in, he stated:

“Big fights (at bantamweight), but at the same time when Conor talks about ‘I’m going to 170’ this and that, the other day I woke up weighing 137 (pounds). That’s two pounds,” Johnson said. “Go ask (Dominick Cruz) what he’s walking around at, he’s probably at 160. Me going to 135 it’s like wake up and go take a (expletive) and I’m ready let’s jump on the scale.”

“So it’s a little bit different. I’m truly fighting bigger men.”

Johnson went on to say that he’s focused on defeating Anderson Silva’s title defense record of 10. Johnson has currently defended the 125 title seven times.

Up next, the AMC Pankration fighter will attempt to make it eight, when he takes on Henry Cejudo at UFC 197 on April 23rd.
