Despite Missing Weight (Again), Paul Daley Still Fighting at BAMMA 7

By FCF Staff

Despite weighing in at a reported 176lbs. for his welterweight bout tomorrow night with Jordan Radev, the British Association of Mixed Martial Arts has informed FCF that Paul Daley will still compete on the card as scheduled.

According to BAMMA, Daley will now fight Radev in a catchweight bout at 176lbs. The promotion did report that a percentage of the British fighter’s purse would be awarded to Radev, but would  not specify how much.

BAMMA also informed FCF that the sauna apparently broke 45 minutes prior to the scheduled weigh-in time, and as a result, any fighter that missed weight was given an extra hour to cut the remaining weight. Daley reportedly opted not to attempt cutting any more pounds.

Making the contracted weight limit for a welterweight bout evidently continues to be an issue for Daley, who has also missed weight previously while competing for the Maximum Fighting Championship, the Ultimate Fighting Championship and Shark Fights.

Earlier today BAMMA announced that Leonardo Santos had not traveled to the United Kingdom for his scheduled bout with lightweight champ Rob Sinclair, citing weight cutting issues. Diego Vital has stepped in as his replacement.

Tomorrow’s BAMMA 7 card will be hosted by Birmingham’s National Indoor Arena and will be streamed live in the U.S. on the promotion’s Facebook account.
