Rumble in the Ring 11
Held June 11, 2005
At the Green River Community College
Auburn, Washington
By Mike Neva

A few hundred hearty souls braved a stormy Pacific Northwest evening to attend the 11th edition of Joel Townsend’s Rumble in the Ring. Although the crowd was sparce, those in attendance were on their feet for much of the evening. The seven bout card was filled with a little bit of everything, from an all out slugfest between Jason Swan and Carmen Casella, to a technical ground battle between Joel Petitt and Justin Gardner. In the main event, Marcelo Alonso’s student, Mike Joy made quick work of the previously undefeated Frank Watts. After an early takedown, Joy moved effortlessly from side mount to full mount before transitioning into a picture perfect arm bar for the submission victory.
