Diego Brandao Says Bout With Joey Gambino Is Next
By FCF Staff
“The Ultimate Fighter” Season 14 winner Diego Brandao has announced that he is fighting Joey Gambino at the upcoming, October 13th, UF 153 card in Rio de Janeiro.
The Jackson’s Mixed Martial Arts fighter made the announcement via his official Twitter account. The UFC has not confirmed the bout.
Brandao (14-8) will be looking to rebound from the unanimous decision loss he suffered against Darren Elkins in May, which ended the featherweight’s four fight winning streak.
Gambino (9-1) is coming off an unsuccessful Octagon debut, as the Tristar fighter was submitted by Steven Siler at a UFC on FX card in June.
Prior to the defeat, Gambino worked his way to a unanimous decision win over Kenny Foster while competing for Cage Fury Fighting Championship in February.
UFC 153 will be hosted by Rio de Janiero’s HSBC Arena and will feature featherweight champion Jose Aldo vs. Erik Koch in the main event.
