Following the withdrawal of Khabib Nurmagomedov from the TUF 22 Finale, the UFC has announced that Edson Barboza has agreed to step in and fight Tony Ferguson.

Recently Nurmagomedov reported that he’s broken a rib, and as a result, he will not fight Ferguson on December 11th as scheduled. Now the UFC has confirmed that Barboza will face Ferguson at the upcoming event, which will be hosted by The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.

Barboza (16-3) is coming off a decision win over Paul Felder in July, and the renowned striker is currently ranked #6 at 155.

Ferguson (19-3) decisioned Josh Thomson in his last outing and is ranked #8.

The TUF 22 Finale will be headlined by a featherweight fight between contenders Frankie Edgar and Chad Mendes.
