After facing Jon Fitch at UFC 153 in October, Erick Silva will fight another seasoned vet next, as the promotion is reporting that the welterweight has agreed to fight Jay Hieron, February 2nd, at UFC 156.

The Super Bowl Weekend card will be hosted by the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Silva (14-3) will be looking to rebound from the spirited unanimous decision loss he incurred versus Fitch last month. Prior to the defeat the 28 year-old Silva submitted Charlie Brenneman at a UFC on FX card in June.

Hieron (23-6) recently returned to the Octagon for the first time since 2005 and lost by UD to Jake Ellenberger at UFC on FX 5 in October.

The 36 year-old-veteran’s only other loss since 2007 came against reigning Bellator champ Ben Askren, who defeated him by unanimous decision last October.

UFC 156 will be headlined by a featherweight bout between champion Jose Aldo and former lightweight champ Frankie Edgar.
