Exclusive: MMA “Superhero” Crime Fighter “Phoenix Jones” And The Truths Behind The Mask

“Phoenix Jones,” Seattle’s real-life “superhero” and MMA fighter, talks in-depth with Full Contact Fighter correspondent Scott Corl about his crime-fighting escapades, including the recent night that earned him national news headlines, landed him in jail and cost him his day job.

Jones, whose real identity is Ben Fodor, brother of Strikeforce rising star Caros Fodor, talks about what inspired him to risk his safety and assume such an unconventional role in life, what it was like to spend time in jail with someone he had apprehended earlier the same night, the benefits of MMA training for stopping crime on the street and the level of support he’s received versus contempt he’s faced from the local public.

Jones also reveals the ongoing sibling rivalry he has with his brother and his ambitions as an MMA fighter. He discusses other MMA fighters he admires and whom he feels would prevail in a showdown between Floyd Mayweather, Jr. and Manny Pacquiao.

That was a great interview. A man who turned himself into a superhero!

And I just posted an interview on my Dragon Ball blog about MMA fighter Marcus Brimage, who was inspired by the anime Dragon Ball Z to pursue MMA.

Wow!! Phoenix has a great personality.
This is the kinda guy I would love to see at the top of the MMA world. Good luck!

That guy is very cool – definitely a Braveheart kind of person. The fact he deals with the ridicule says a lot about his conviction.

  4. UFC Lies says:

This guy is an inspiration. Keep up the good work Phoenix!
