Floyd Mayweather Concedes if Conor McGregor Goes 12 Rounds It’s “a Victory For Him”

Many people have argued that if Conor McGregor goes the distance with Floyd Mayweather, the UFC champ will be the victor in many people’s eyes, and the undefeated boxer doesn’t disagree.

Although McGregor has won two UFC titles, and is widely considered to be one of the best MMA fighters on the planet, he’s a sizeable underdog heading into his August 26th bout with Mayweather. After all, the latter is 49-0 as a pro, has won multiple boxing championships, and is considered to be one of the greatest pugilists of all time. McGregor, on the other hand, has never competed in a pro-boxing bout.

During an open media workout this week, Mayweather was asked about the argument, that if McGregor goes 12 rounds with him, he’ll be the winner. The boxing star stated this (quote via MMA Fighting):

“It is a victory for him,” Mayweather said. “If he goes the distance, it’s a victory for him. In my eyes, also.”

“He believes it’s not gonna go past four ,and I believe that it’s not gonna go the distance at all,” Mayweather added. “He feels one way, I feel another way. we’re both confident in our skills. We’ll just have to see.”

The 40 year-old Mayweather  hasn’t stopped an opponent since 2011 and is coming off seven straight, decision victories.

Mayweather – McGregor will be hosted by the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
