Former WEC Champ Jamie Varner Confirmed for XFC and TFC Bouts

By FCF Staff

The fall schedule for Jamie Varner has gotten much busier, as today both the Titan Fighting Championship and Xtreme Fighting Championship announced that the former WEC lightweight champ will is compete at their upcoming cards.

On September 23rd, Varner will head to Kansas City, Kansas, to face Alonzo Martinez at TFC 20.

Varner (17-5-1) is coming off a first round submission win over Tyler Combs at a Xtreme Fighting Organization card in May, after dropping back-to-back bouts to Ben Henderson and Donald Cerrone, which led to his WEC release.

The 26 year-old vet recently relocated from Arizona to New Jersey to train with the renowned AMA Fight Club.

Martinez (31-14-1) is riding a four fight win streak and is 9-1 in his last ten bouts. Most recently the 27 year-old vet worked his way to a unanimous decision win over Ted Worthington, while competing on an August 19th, Disorderly Conduct event.

The September 23rd TFC 20 card will be broadcast on HDNet.

Then, on October 21st, Varner will take on Nate Jolly at the XFC’s upcoming fourteenth event in Orlando, Florida.  The promotion announced via it’s official Twitter account that the bout will be the card’s headliner.

Jolly (10-3) is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Zach Juusola in April, after scoring back-to-back wins over Nick Sorg and Ronnie Rogers.
