Former WSOF Champ Georgi Karakhanyan Returning to Bellator

Karakhanyan

By FCF Staff

Bellator has added a notable name to its featherweight ranks, as former World Series of Fighting champ, Georgi Karakhanyan, is returning to the promotion.

Karakhanyan, who fought for Bellator back in 2010 and 2011, announced the news via Twitter.

The 29 year-old veteran is coming off a 9-1 outside of Bellator, which saw Karakhanyan win WSOF’s featherweight title in December, by submitting Lance Palmer. The Millennia MMA fighter lost the belt to Rick Glenn via TKO (due to retirement) at WSOF 10 in June.

In recent years, Karakhanyan has also defeated established vets like Din Thomas, Micah Miller, and Hiroyuki Takaya.

The California fighter’s last bout with Bellator took place in March, 2011, when he was stopped by current champ, Patricio Freire.

Bellator has not announced when and who Karakhanyan will fight next.
