McCall's (left) slugfest with Demetrious Johnson (right) was as memorable as the judges' mix-up was mind-boggling

The UFC has announced that Fort Lauderdale, Florida is the winner of its Harley-Davidson Hometown Throwdown contest, and as a result, the city will host the upcoming June 8th, UFC on FX card.

The event will be hosted by Fort Lauderdale’s Bank Atlantic Center.

The card will feature a rematch between Ian McCall and Demetrious Johnson in the main event.

McCall (11-2-1) and Johnson (14-2-1)  battled to a draw last month in Australia, in what was a semifinal of the promotion’s ongoing flyweight tournament. Johnson had initially been declared the winner, however, it was revealed shortly after that there had been a scoring error and a rematch was scheduled.

The winner of the upcoming bout will advance to face Joseph Benavidez for the UFC flyweight belt. Benavidez stoped Yasuhiro Urushitani in the second round of their semifinal bout last month.

Some of the other bouts scheduled for the UFC on FX 3 card include Scott Jorgensen vs. Eddie Wineland, Mike Pierce vs. Carlos Eduardo Rocha, Seth Baczynski vs. Lance Benoist, Dustin Pague vs. Jared Papazian and Leonard Garcia vs. Matt Grice.
