UFC President Dana White should stop promising title shots to winners of fights.  As we know, he doesn’t always follow through. It also distracts from the fight.

Alexander Gustafsson will get a UFC light heavyweight shot if he beats Gegard Mousasi. Mousasi, new to the UFC, won’t.

What if the Jon Jones vs. Chael Sonnen fight is an epic war and Sonnen steals a close decision. Would Gustafsson get a title shot before pound-for-pound great Jones gets a rematch?  Let them fight and then pick the No. 1contender

It’s happening with Anderson Silva too. The winner of the just-announced Vitor Belfort vs. Luke Rockhold fight will get a middleweight shot at Silva.  Great for Rockhold. He deserves the shot now. Belfort doesn’t. There’s a whole list of guys who deserve title shots before Belfort gets a second one.  Won’t be an issue because Rockhold will  destroy Belfort.

Finally, the UFC plans to give Bigfoot Silva another title shot against Cain Velasquez.

Why?!

Considering that Alistair Overeem whipped Bigfoot for two rounds before he got knocked out, and Velasquez crushed Silva, wouldn’t it make more sense for Overeem and Bigfoot to fight again?  Velasquez went the distance with Junior Dos Santos. Doesn’t Dos Santos deserve a title shot before Silva?

Silva doesn’t deserve a title shot.  Dos Santos deserves a rematch.
