Miesha Tate will appear in ESPN’s The Body Issue – nude, the latest MMA fighter to pose for the magazine.

She follows Ronda Rousey, Gina Carano and the once-married “Cyborgs”, Evangelista and Cris Santos.

If Tate can upset Rousey she’ll have a lot more mainstream attention headed her way.

. . . Speaking of Cyborg, she’s getting ready to headline Invicta’s first television pay-per-view event in July against Marloes Coenen.

Santos already knocked out Coenen in Strikeforce and the second fight will probably end the same way.

. . . Santos has the potential to be a bigger female star than both Rousey and Tate, but she’ll need a bigger platform to get noticed.

Invicta needs to book her on national television shows and introduce her on the national stage.

And speaking of spectacles, Bobby Lashley has signed to fight for Global Warrior Challenge at its inaugural MMA event, “The British Invasion: U.S. vs. U.K.,” which will take over the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri on Saturday, June 29th.

Lashley, a former WWE champion, just two weeks ago defeated an out-of-shape Kevin Asplund.

Lashley fought for Strikeforce, but his career took a bad turn when he lost to Chad Griggs. Griggs went on to fight in the UFC, while Lashley has not.

He could end up fighting another pro wrestler, Dave Bautista, who won his first MMA fight last year.

His opponent for this Saturday’s GWC card has not been announced.
