Everything to lose, very little to gain.

That’s the situation Gegard Mousasi is in when he steps into the cage Saturday against Ilir Latifi.  Mousasi was supposed to fight Alexander Gustafsson, but Gustafsson busted his eye open, forcing him out of the fight.

Mousasi faced a stiff challenge in Gustafsson, but he knew what he was getting himself into.  Latifi, a training partner of Gustafsson’s and an MMA fighter, has nothing to lose and everything to gain against Mousasi.  Mousasi, one of the best fighters in the world, should make short work of Latifi, but anything can happen

Ask Kimbo Slice what he thinks of last-minute replacement opponents.

. . . Sarah Kaufman returns Friday night at Invicta FC. Kaufman was tapped out by Ronda Rousey in one round in October.

The Canadian is under contract to the UFC, but is on loan to the Invicta for a one-off. Kaufman battles  Kaufman needs a win to stay relevant and keep dreams of getting a rematch with Rousey.

Ryan Couture also fights on Saturday’s Fuel show.  Couture’s last fight was against KJ Noons, when Christmas came early For Couture, in the form of a bad decision in his favor.
