A look around the world of MMA . . .

Breaking News: Nick Diaz showed up for a press conference . . . And said nice things about his UFC 158 opponent, Georges St. Pierre.

Diaz said he liked GSP “just fine,” and that Diaz “was unprofessional” when he no-showed a press conference to fight St. Pierre more than a year ago.

Maybe Dana White playing parent opened Diaz’s eyes a bit . . .

According to MMA Weekly, the UFC’s Bisping vs. Belfort fight scored the highest rating ever for a UFC show on FX.

With 1.9 million viewers, the event was the most watched show on all of television among 18-49-year-old men.
With several huge main events lined up, UFC is poised to have a fantastic year.

UFC President Dana White said Johny Hendricks is next in line to fight for the Welterweight strap. Duh. But if Hendricks can’t beat Jake Ellenberger, the title shot is up for grabs.

Perhaps Tarec Saffiedine could angle his way in to the title picture. The big fight is GSP vs. Rory MacDonald, by GSP is smart enough to run away from a fight with his talented training partner.

. . . King Mo Lawal makes his debut Thursday night for Bellator. For the company’s sake, let’s hope King Mo can still go.

Bellator dumped money into an entertaining documentary, where he was compared to Deion Sanders and other multi-sport athletes.

Mo is also a wrestler for TNA on Spike TV. King Mo has said several times that training for pro wrestling is harder than training for MMA.

He’d better win Thursday night so Bellator can continue to take advantage of his athleticism and charisma.

If Bellator can sign Rampage Jackson, a King Mo vs. Jackson fight could spark good television numbers.
