Full Contact Fighter’s “The Daily Takedown:” Sarah Kaufman’s Ronda Rousey Contest; Jake Shields Shows Up: “Kill yourself @danawhite

Strikeforce women's bantamweight championship challenger Sarah Kaufman (right) came up with a creative idea to play with the mind of her opponent, champion Ronda Rousey

By Joshua Molina

Sarah Kaufman may not be the darling of MMA media, but that’s not necessarily her fault. She does have a sense of humor.

Just look at her Twitter account. She’s launched an imitate Ronda Rousey contest and the winner gets two free tickets to her fight against the champ in San Diego on Aug.18.

“Don’t forget to submit your best RR impression by 7pm pst tomorrow for a chance to win 2 tickets for my title fight next sat! #fb” shCanaanite

One of the most hilarious impressions is here: youtube.com/watch?v=NjsI6

Kaufman tweeted “Amazing entry lol,” about the video. The male actor oddly does bear a freaky resemblance to the Strikeforce Bantamweight Champion.

Kaufman may not be a master at mouthing off in the media, but she does know how to play some mind games of her own. Now if she could just avoid Rousey’s arm bar, she’ll end up getting the last laugh., too.

Jake Shields is back! Wait, Jake Shields is back. The American Jiu-Jitsu master hugged and clinched his way to a unanimous decision victory at UFC 150. Shields is tougher than a wet blanket to get off of you. In his move back to middleweight, Shields showed his superior grappling skills against Ed
Herman. When Shields is confident, he’s fairly unbeatable, if not boring.

You wonder how popular UFC boss Dana White would be if he wasn’t signing pay checks. The latest fighter to wish harm on the vitriolic promoter is  Jason “Mayhem” Miller. The two battled on Twitter on Saturday.

White blasted Miller for going 0-3 in the UFC. Miller challenged him to a fight, where White could keep his shirt on.

Here’s part of the exchange:

“lol retire Mayhem I’M BEGGIN U!!!” White tweeted.

“Kill yourself @danawhite we are all begging you,” Miller responded.

There’s a growing distaste for White and his controlling tendencies among MMA fighters. White regularly badmouths fighters and frequently drops f-bombs on camera. He may be the president of the UFC, but he’s also emerged as the biggest armchair quarterback I’m the sport. But as long as he in charge of fighters, we’ll just have to take it.
