So Vitor Belfort thinks he’s too good for Tim Kennedy. He wants a title shot or nothing.

Not only does the 36-year-old have the body of a 26-year-old, he apparently has the mouth of a 16-year-old — snooty and cocky.

It doesn’t matter if you have knocked out Luke Rockhold and Michael Bisping; Belfort can still taste Anderson Silva’s feet inside his mouth. When you get knocked out like that by a front kick from the champ you fight who the promoter tells you to fight, and be happy you are even part of title shot consideration.

Belfort’s not getting any younger, but if he wants to sit on the shelf and turn away money that’s just dumb. Maybe he’s afraid of losing his next fight, which would push him even further back in the title hunt.

Kennedy should start going around telling people he doesn’t want to fight Belfort now either, and that Belfort is a washed-up hack who can’t win a fight without TRT. Maybe that will shake-up the entitled legend into accepting the fight.

A better fight for Kennedy, however, would be a rematch against “Jacare” Souza. Kennedy came up short when the two fought for the Strikeforce middleweight championship and he hasn’t fought with the same sense of desperation and urgency since the decision loss.

At least Jacare is on the rise, and a win over him would be a lot more impressive than a win over Belfort.
