UFC 146 continues to undergo significant alterations, as following the news that Antonio Silva will now fight Cain Velasquez, UFC President Dana White has announced that Gabriel Gonzaga will fight Roy Nelson at the May 26th event.

Nelson had been scheduled to fight Silva next month, until the latter was moved to face Velasquez, after Frank Mir was promoted to a bout with champion Junior dos Santos.

Mir was moved to meet dos Santos, after Alistair Overeem tested for an elevated testosterone to epitestosterone ratio, in a pre-fight drug test conducted by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

Gonzaga (13-6) is coming off a successful return to the Octagon in January, as the former heavyweight contender submitted Ednaldo Oliveira in the first round at UFC 142.

The Brazilian fighter was originally scheduled to face Shane Del Rosario at UFC 146. No details as to who Del Rosario will fight now have been released.

Nelson (16-7) dropped a unanimous decision to Fabricio Werdum in his last outing at UFC 143 in February.

UFC 146 will be hosted by the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
