Georges St-Pierre Says Terms He’s Presented UFC Are “Very Reasonable”, Responds to Dana White

Georges St. Pierre

Georges St-Pierre continues to prepare for his return to the UFC, however, the Canadian star needs a new contract in  order to make that happen.

Recently St-Pierre announced that he plans to fight again, and that he’s entered USADA’s drug testing program in preparation for his return. The former welterweight champ has also said that he needs a new contract, and during the latest “UFC Tonight“, GSP reported no deal is in place yet (quote via FOX Sports 1 press release):

“I want to come back. They know the terms that I want and they’ve very reasonable. I guess they’ll come back to me soon. I want to be back for another run. I don’t want one fight. I’ll take one fight at a time, but I want to go for a run.”

“From my point of view, I’m making a lot of money now even though I’m not fighting. My contract was made before the Reebok deal, so I’m losing money if I go back and fight on the old terms of my contract. I’m just waiting to see what happens.”

Interestingly enough, UFC President Dana White has questioned St-Pierre’s drive, and has argued the decorated fighter doesn’t have a “champion attitude”. When asked to weigh-in on White’s comments, GSP stated:

“He doesn’t know anything about me. I’m a smart person. Let me fight once and you’ll see in the first minute of the first fight it’s all wrong. Let me fight Tyron Woodley and he’ll see. I’m not angry at him. It’s like a game. Let me fight once and you’ll see in first minute.”

St-Pierre hasn’t fought now since 2013, when he earned a split decision win over Johny Hendricks.
