GLORY 22 will go down on June 5th in Lille, France, and the event will provide former lightweight champ Davit Kiria an opportunity to lock up another title shot.

The card will feature a lightweight contender tourney, and the winner will advance to face champion Robin Van Roosmalen, who took the title away from Kiria last November.

The 27 year-old Kiria, who will face Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong in the tourney’s semifinals, recently spoke to GLORY about the upcoming tourney and relayed:

“Of course I didn’t like the result of GLORY 18 and I have thought a lot about that,” Kiria said, while referring to his loss to Van Roosmalen. “But it is already in the past for me and I am looking forward to my new goals. I promise everybody I will get my title back and I am working very hard towards that,” says Kiria.

“As always I’m going to do my best. My key strength is that I never give up. If we fight again maybe it can be the ‘Fight of the Century’ in the lightweight division.”

Most recently, Kiria knocked out Zheng Zhaoyu while competing at a Kunlun Fight card in February. The Georgian fighter currently carries a record of 23-8.

In the tourney’s other semifinal, Josh Jauncey (22-4) will battle Niclas Larsen (40-7-1).

The main card for GLORY 22 will be broadcast on SPIKE.
