After Nick Diaz failed to show for his scheduled grappling match with Braulio Estima, at yesterday’s World Jiu-Jitsu Expo in Long Beach, California, the fighter’s manager Cesar Gracie has announced on Twitter that the camp will release a full statement Monday.

Although Diaz hasn’t commented publicly yet on why he was a no show for Saturday’s ‘super fight’, Gracie tweeted in Portuguese Sunday that “believe Nick will be a great fight”, before adding in English.

PS: I’ll make Braulio weigh in right before the match 175 or 180 (you pick) You decide… The rules…

Estima was reportedly at 189 pounds on Friday, nine pounds over the agreed 180 limit that was signed for the grappling match. The camps apparently agreed to a new weight of 185, which Estima reportedly had made as of Saturday morning.

After it became clear that Diaz was not going to show, Estima reportedly informed the crowd that he would be willing to meet the highly regarded fighter in a MMA bout.

Prior to missing the event, Diaz had announced that he was going to donate his purse to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital of Memphis.

Saturday’s no show is the latest in a series of incidents for Diaz, who is currently under suspension by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, after he tested positive for marijuana following his unanimous decision loss to Carlos Condit in February.

Diaz was dropped from a scheduled title fight with UFC welterweight champ Georges St. Pierre in October, after he failed to show up for two press conferences to promote the bout.
