GWC Weigh-In Results: Fighters Set for “British Invasion”

Lashley

By FCF Staff

Global Warrior Challenge held the official weigh-ins this afternoon in Kansas City, Missouri, in preparation for the promotion’s first card tomorrow night, titled “British Invasion.” Several UFC vets are set to compete on the card, including Kendall Grove, Andre Winner, Drew Fickett and Ricco Rodriguez. Former Strikeforce heavyweight Bobby Lashley is also competing and will fight Matt Larson.

Here are the official weigh-in results for the event, as well as several quotes the promotion has released.

Bobby Lashley: “I think it’s going to be a really exciting fight, but I hope to end it very quickly.”

Ricco Rodriguez: “It’s going to be a really scrappy fight. He’s a long, lanky guy. It’s going to be exciting, and I really think it’s going to be something good for the fans to watch on TV as well as here in Kansas City.”

Drew Fickett: “I’m fighting one of the better strikers on the card, Andre Winner. I’m actually a big fan. I like watching a lot of his fights and the way he moves. But everybody knows I like to choke people. That’s what he’s coming in defending against. Everybody knows I have more rear-naked chokes than anyone in the history of the sport, and that total is only going up.”

Kendall “Da Spyda” Grove: “I just fought June 8th, and I feel good…no injuries in that fight. Danny’s a pretty slick ground specialist. He jumps for flying armbars, flying triangles…he has the balls to do it, so I can’t look past him. I’m excited to be here in Kansas City representing Team USA. I hate decisions. I want to finish him.”

Ricco Rodriguez (213.9) vs. Marcin Lazarz (215)

Wayne Cole (185.6) vs. Jack Marshman (185.4)
