THE WEEK OF OCTOBER 2-6

by Eddie Goldman

"No Holds Barred" can be heard every Monday through Friday, 3 to 5 PM New
York time (Eastern Time – U.S.), only on eYada.com (http://www.eyada.com).

Go get 'em Eddie
Monday, October 2 — Both the ground-breaking IFC mixed martial arts show in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and the 2000 Olympic Games have finished, and today we review them both in depth. We will speak to Mike Chapman, founder of the International Wrestling Institute and Museum, about the defeat of Russian wrestling legend Alexander Kareline by American Rulon Gardner at the Olympics, and the state of international wrestling.

Tuesday, October 3 — Mixed martial arts fighter Chuck Liddell plans to return to action soon, and today talks with us about his plans. Jeff Whittle joins us to preview this coming Saturday’s Extreme Sport Fighting Championships in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Wednesday, October 4 — Mixed martial artist Ian Freeman scored a victory at UFC XXVII, and today he tells us about the obstacles he had to overcome in order to achieve it. Scott Adams, who owns a victory over Ian in UFC, also joins us to talk about his fighting plans. Also, since today is the first anniversary of "No Holds Barred," we will offer some observations on what we hope has been the first of many, many years to come of speaking the truth on the Internet about the combat sports.

Thursday, October 5 — Today we speak to two champion mixed martial artists. First up is Nathan Marquardt, who recently became the 1st Middleweight King of Pancrase. Next is "The Giant" of mixed martial arts, 6 foot 10 inch Gan McGee, who successfully defended his IFC World Super-Heavyweight title at this past Saturday’s IFC show in Atlantic City.

Friday, October 6 — Mixed martial artist Vernon "Tiger" White of the Lions Den fought on this past Saturday’s IFC show in Atlantic City and successfully defended his IFC World Heavyweight title. Today we speak with him by phone from the world-famous Lions Den in Chula Vista, California.
