IMMAF Welcomes The National Association of Mixed Martial Arts Panama (ANMMA)

By Press Release

(London. 28 November 2017) The National Association of Mixed Martial Arts Panama (ANMMA) is the latest nation to be officially announced as a member of the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF).

Founded in 2014, ANMMA is an organisation that arose from the desire to promote MMA within Panamanian territory. Born out of an association of various clubs that practice MMA across Panama’s provinces, ANMMA is now the only MMA organization to be recognized by the Panamanian Sports Institute, PANDEPORTES. Headed by President Caroline Diaz, the National Association of Mixed Martial Arts De Panama is based in the province of San Miguelito District.

Panama recently made its debut on the IMMAF competition platform at the 2017 IMMAF World Championships of Amateur MMA, which took place from November 12 to 19 in Manama, Bahrain. The nation was represented by Men’s Bantamweight challenger David Rivera. Rivera was also presented with the historic first SAFEJAWZ Golden Mouthguard Award, in recognition of his stand-out commitment to the sport and his embodiment of the good sporting values of amateur MMA.

Panama was represented at the 2017 IMMAF General Assembly by Technical Director and international representative, Eusebio Rivera, who was also elected by the IMMAF membership to serve as one of three members on the IMMAF Arbitration Committee.
