Featherweight brawler Veronica Rothenhausler has been forced out of her upcoming Invicta FC 5 matchup against Mollie Estes due to an undisclosed injury.
Officials on Monday announced the injury as well as Rothenhausler’s replacement, Julia Budd’s position on the card.
Rothenhausler (1-0) is undefeated coming off of a first round knockout of Katalina Malungahu at Invicta FC 4, before her injury sidelined her for an undetermined amount of time.
Her replacement Budd (4-2) is on a two fight win streak consisting of consecutive knockouts at Invicta FC 2 and 3, after falling to a first round armbar from Rounda Rousey in November of 2011.
Estes (1-1) is looking for her first victory under Invicta sponsorship, she was defeated at the promotions debut event by Randi Miller.
The upcoming Invicta FC event is scheduled to take place at the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Kansas City, MO on April 5. The event will be headlined by an atomweight title fight between Jessica Penne and Michelle Waterson.
