Injury Removes Rory MacDonald From UFC 140; Claude Patrick Fighting Brian Ebersole
The Ultimate Fighting Championship has announced today that rising welterweight Rory MacDonald will no longer fight Brian Ebersole, December 10th in Toronto, Ontario, due to an undisclosed injury.
As a result, local fighter Claude Patrick has been moved into replace MacDonald and will fight Ebersole. Patrick had been originally scheduled to fight Rich Attonito at UFC 140; according to the promotion’s official site, the search for Attonito’s new opponent is underway.
Patrick (14-1) is coming off a unanimous decision win over Daniel Roberts in April, to extend his win streak to 13 and his Octagon record to 3-0.
Ebersole (48-14-1) has scored back-to-back victories over Chris Lytle and Dennis Hallman, since the veteran arrived in the UFC earlier this year.
UFC 140 will be hosted by Toronto’s Air Canada Centre and will feature a light-heavyweight bout between champion Jon Jones and former champ Lyoto Machida in the main event.
