The list of confirmed bouts for Strikeforce’s upcoming May 19th card continues to get longer, as today the promotion announced that James Terry will fight Billy Evangelista on the event’s preliminary card.

The “Strikeforce: Heavyweight Grand-Prix Finale” card will be hosted by San Jose’s HP Pavilion and will feature a heavyweight bout between Josh Barnett and Daniel Cormier in the main event.

Evanglista (11-2) will be looking to rebound from the first two losses of his pro career, after losing by unanimous decision to KJ Noons and Jorge Masvidal last year.

The lightweight’s last win took place in October, 2010, when he scored a UD victory over Waachiim Spiritwolf at Strikeforce’s eleventh Challengers card.

Terry (11-4) is also coming off a loss, as he lost by split decision to Nah-Shon Burrell at Strikeforce’s “Jardine vs. Rockhold” event in January.

Prior to the defeat, Terry knocked out Magno Almeida in the first round at Challengers 19 last November.

Other bouts that have been confirmed for the May 19th card include a lightweight bout between champion Gilbert Melendez and former champ Josh Thomson, a light-heavyweight bout between Mike Kyle and Rafael Cavalcante, and a welterweight bout between Bobby Voelker and the aforementioned Burrell.

The event will be broadcast on Showtime.
