By FCF Staff
Fedor Emelianenko’s next bout will take place November 12th in Russia versus well traveled veteran and decorated grappler Jeff Monson, according to a post on the latter’s official Twitter account. Monson’s ‘tweet’, which said a bout with Fedor was “confirmed”, included no information regarding the city and venue
M-1 Global has not yet confirmed any opponent for Emelianenko, however, officials with the promotion have reported that the former Pride champ would fight before 2011 is up. Attempts to reach M-1 Global were not immediately returned.
The 40 year-old Monson also posted that there will be a press conference “on 16th in Russia”.
Monson (42-12) is coming off a unanimous decision loss to undefeated heavyweight Daniel Cormier in June, after the BJJ black belt won 8 straight fights.
Emelianenko (31-4) has lost three straight bouts to Fabricio Werdum, Antonio Silva and most recently Dan Henderson, after going undefeated for ten years.
