Miguel, One of the first major female MMA fights was Gina Carano's Strikeforce debut against Elaina Maxwell where Carano won via unanimous decision at Strikeforce: Triple Threat in San Jose on December 8, 2006. So, please enlighten us about these famous women fighters in 2001?? I mean, obviously we are completely ignorant if we aren't familiar with them so please educate all of us??? Whether you like Carano or not, there is no doubting she pushed Women's MMA to mainstream audiences who never had watched it before. And if you are so incredibly educated and up to speed on Women's MMA, why are you "hoping if Duke is good" - I would assume you had watched her many videos on You Tube and read about her history or checked out her FACEBOOK page to educate yourself - I mean, wouldn't want to appear completely ignorant now would we................

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Be that as it may, Jessamyn Duke is articulate, media friendly and possesses a skill set at her level of development that will be revealed in the very near and favorable future of her career. Sit down and hold on. Jessamyn Duke has some very good opportunities on the table!!

Really? You think her knowledge of women's MMA is "completely" ignorant. She seems very intelligent and well spoken to me and is able to speak about the different games and strengths of some of the current female fight division. Her only comment to which you seem to be referring to was that Gina Carano really started the women's MMA movement, which is true in the sense that no one cared shit about women's MMA until she came along and helped to make it popular and make fans and promoters take notice. Debbie Purcell and Tara LaRossa were pioneers, but no one cared! It wasn't until Gina came along with her good looks and ability to fight with great skill that people finally started to look at women in MMA. This is not opinion. It's fact. Dana White himself HATED women's MMA until the likes of Carano and Cyborg hit the field. Nice knee jerk reaction.

I hope she is good, because her knowledge of women's MMA is completely ignorant, there was at least 5 years of history with Good fighters before Carano and Cyborg.
