As expected, it didn’t take Jon Fitch long to find a new employer, as the former UFC welterweight contender is reporting that he is set to sign with World Series of Fighting. The 35 year-old-fighter, who was just recently released by the UFC, posted on his Twitter account:

Contracts are finalized however and I will be signing a deal with World Series Of Fighting tomorrow. Time to get back to work.

Although Fitch is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Demian Maia in February, many observers were shocked when he was cut by the UFC, considering the 14-3-1 record he put together in the Octagon.

Prior to facing Maia, Fitch recorded a memorable, unanimous decision win over Erick Silva in October, after getting knocked out by Johny Hendricks in December, 2011.

According to reports, Fitch is expected to compete at the third WSOF event in June, as the promotion’s next card is just around the corner on March 23rd.
