Jon Fitch was gunning for an impressive comeback win as well as a performance bonus at UFC 153 last night in Rio de Janeiro, and the perennial contender managed to get both. Fitch and rising welterweight Erick Silva won “Fight of the Night” honors and an extra $70,000 each for their epic bout, which saw Fitch win the memorable fight by unanimous decision.

Antonio “Minotauro” Nogueira was also looking for a comeback victory and did just that, by forcing Dave Herman to tap-out with a second round armbar. The legendary fighter, who was coming off surgery to repair a broken arm, also collected an extra $70,000.

And “Knockout of the Night” went to Rony Jason, for his third round stoppage of Sam Sicilia, in a fight that featured plenty of punishing blows.

UFC 153 was hosted by Rio de Janeiro’s HSBC Arena and featured Anderson Silva stopping Stephan Bonnar in the main event.
