Jon Jones Says He’s “Blessed” To Have Signed Deal With Nike
UFC Light-Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones has taken another step towards becoming a significant, mainstream star, as the fighter has confirmed reports that he’s signed a deal with the sporting apparel, multinational Nike.
Speaking via his official Twitter account, the 25 year-old Jones stated:
Blessed to be signed by the biggest sports apparel company in the world #NIKE Dreams do come true
Never allow anyone to tell you what you can or cannot do
The Jackson’s MMA fighter did not disclose any details of the deal, however, according to a report from MMA Fighting, Jones will receive his own signature line as part of the multi-year agreement.
Jones (16-1) is currently riding one of the more impressive runs MMA has seen to date, as the explosive fighter is coming off consecutive wins over Rashad Evans, Lyoto Machida, Mauricio Rua and Quinton Jackson. All four men are former UFC light-heavyweight champs.
News of Jones’s Nike deal comes as the fighter continues to prepare for his upcoming, September 1st bout with former Strikeforce and PRIDE champ Dan Henderson.
