Jon Jones Takes Out “Rampage” Jackson at UFC 135

Jon Jones

By FCF Staff

Despite a determined effort, the athleticism and skill of Jon “Bones” Jones was too much for Quinton “Rampage” Jackson tonight at UFC 135 in Denver, Colorado, as the light-heavyweight champion submitted the challenger in the fourth round.

Although Jackson never appeared to be in serious trouble throughout the championship fight’s opening three rounds, the former champ was unable to launch any substantive offense towards Jones. After Jones took Jackson to the mat shortly into round four, the Greg Jackson fighter quickly secured a fight ending rear-naked-choke to defend the light-heavyweight crown.

In the co-main-event, Josh Koscheck fought his way through the stiff jab of Matt Hughes and took the legend to the canvas late into the first round. From there, Koscheck finished the bout with a vicious series of punches and hammer fists, leaving Hughes unconscious face down on the mat.

The former champion announced afterwards that although he was not retiring, he would be asking the UFC to put him “on the shelf” for the time being.

Here are the results from tonight’s UFC 135 card.
