The Ultimate Fighting Championship has finally confirmed a date for the upcoming fight between Jon Jones and Glover Teixeira, as the two will square off February 22nd at UFC 170. The event will be hosted by the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Jones (19-1) is coming off a thrilling and tightly contested unanimous decision win over Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 165 in September, after quickly stopping Chael Sonnen at UFC 159 in April. The light-heavyweight champion has won 10 straight fights now since he was disqualified for using illegal elbows versus Matt Hamill in 2009.

Teixeira (22-2) has won five fights in a row since arriving in the UFC. In his most recent bout at UFC Fight Night 28 in September, he stopped Ryan Bader in the opening round.

No other fights have been confirmed yet for UFC 170.

If Jones defends the title versus Teixeira on February 22nd, and Gustafsson gets by Jimi Manuwa on March 8th, the two are expected to rematch later in 2014.
