As Jose Aldo gets set to meet with UFC officials and Dana White, the Brazilian star is claiming that the latter advised him to stay “quiet”, regarding a fighter union.

Aldo, who has said in the past that he believes fighters should form a union, is expected to meet with White this week. The interim featherweight champ has been calling for his release, following the UFC’s decision to allow Conor McGregor to fight lightweight champ Eddide Alvarez, but retain the 145 title.

According to a report from MMA Fighting.com, Aldo recently claimed the following, while discussing whether fighters should organize a union.

“Not only now that I’m the one being affected, but I always talked about it and defended better things for Brazilian athletes,” Aldo said. “In a conversation, Dana himself came and told me not to take anyone’s sides because the cake would be split the same for everyone, but I could get a bigger slice if I stayed quiet.”

The 30 year-old reportedly went on to add that fighters would be better off financially if they were more “united”.

Alvarez – McGregor will take place at UFC 205, on November 12th in New York City.
