The Ultimate Fighting Championship’s upcoming September 22nd card in Toronto, Ontario, will feature two more significant bouts, as the promotion has confirmed that Joseph Benavidez will take on Demetrious Johnson for the UFC flyweight title, and that middleweight Michael Bisping will take on Brian Stann.
Benavidez (16-2) entrenched his flyweight title shot in March by stopping Yasuhiro Urushitani at UFC on FX 2, which was his fourth straight win.
Johnson (15-2) finally earned his crack at the flyweight belt by handing Ian McCall a UD loss in June, after the two fought to a draw in March.
Bisping (22-4) is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Chael Sonnen in January, which snapped the British middleweight’s four fight win streak.
Stann (12-4) knocked out Alessio Sakara in April after he was submitted by Sonnen last October.
The upcoming UFC 152 card will also feature a bout between rising welterweight star Rory MacDonald and former champ BJ Penn.
The card will be hosted by Toronto’s Air Canada Centre.
