Josh Barnett, Gilbert Melendez and Daniel Cormier Top Latest Strikeforce Payroll

The California State Athletic Commission has released the payroll figures for Strikeforce’s latest event on Saturday in San Jose, and not surprisingly, former UFC champion Josh Barnett and current lightweight champ Gilbert Melendez were among the leaders.
Barnett was reportedly paid $200,000 for his Grand Prix Finale bout with rising heavyweight Daniel Cormier, who collected $100,000—including a $50,000 win bonus—for his unanimous decision victory.
Melendez was paid $175,000 total for his rubber match bout with Josh Thomson, who in losing by split decision, earned a reported 90,000.
According to the CSAC figures the gross gate for the event was $226,0095. Numbers regarding ticket sales at the HP Pavilion are still pending.
Here are the salaries that were disclosed to the CSAC by Strikeforce and its parent company Zuffa. They do not include any additional sponsorship or performance based bonuses a fighter may have received.
