Josh Burkman and Jon Fitch Lead WSOF 3 Payroll
By FCF Staff
Josh Burkman picked up $32,000 for his shocking 41 second victory over Jon Fitch Friday night at WSOF 3, according to figures that have been released by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. Fitch, who was choked unconscious by Burkman’s guillotine choke, earned $30,000.
The highly regarded welterweights, who’s bout headlined the WSOF card, were the card’s highest earners. The event was hosted by the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The figures provide a first glance at the compensation Fitch will be receiving during his time with WSOF, after he was released by the UFC this past February. Fitch was paid $66,000 for his last fight with the promotion, a decision loss to Demian Maia at UFC 156, according to the NSAC.
Here are the fighter purses that were closed to the Nevada commission by WSOF for the June 14th event. They do not include any additional money a fighter may have earned like sponsorship revenue (figures via MMA Weekly.com).
