Josh Koscheck Returning November 19th, “Good Chance” as Middleweight

By FCF Staff

Josh Koscheck’s extensive layoff from competition will end November 19th at UFC 139, according to a post the former welterweight contender made on his official Twitter account. Not only will the bout mark the first time Koscheck has competed since he lost by unanimous decision to welterweight champ Georges St. Pierre last December, the AKA fighter may be returning as a middleweight. Koscheck’s recent ‘tweet’ stated:

My next fight is in SAN JOSE cali. NOV 19th Good chance fighting at 185lbs. 🙂 should know real soon who.

The 33 year-old-veteran has been on the sidelines since his UFC 124 loss to St. Pierre, due a broken orbital bone he incurred in the five round fight. The loss marked the second time Koscheck was defeated by St. Pierre, who also scored a UD win over the accomplished collegiate wrestler in August, 2007.

Koscheck has gone 3-2 in his last five fights, recording wins over Anthony Johnson, Paul Daley and Frank Trigg. His additional loss during that stretch came at UFC 95 in February, 2009, when he was stopped by Paulo Thiago.

The November 19th, UFC 139 card is expected to take place at the HP Pavilion in San Jose. The main event for the card has yet to be announced.
