K-1 Adds Jarrell Miller vs. Jack May to U.S. Grand-Prix Championships

K-1 has announced the opening round match-ups for the kickboxing organization’s upcoming U.S. Grand-Prix, which will include a bout between newly signed heavyweights Jarrell Miller and Jack May.

The, 6’4 tall, 23 year-old Miller joins K-1 armed with an undefeated record of 19-0.

“We are pleased to have signed top rising heavyweight Jarrell Miller who comes to us out of Brooklyn’s Renzo Gracie School,” Doug Kaplan, K-1’s CEO was quoted saying in a press release. “Jarrell’s manager, Joseph Katz, was instrumental in making this happen. Katz and his team are lining up an intense training program and intend to take Jarrell all the way to the K-1 finals.”

The 31 year-old May, is a 6’8, 260 pound fighter who has earned a 4-1 record to date.

“We are very excited to add Jack May to our heavyweight roster,” said Kaplan. “Fighters like May, Vigney, Blake and Miller represent the new generation of American kickboxers and prove that incredible talent can be found right here in the United States.”

As a result of the additions, the Grand Prix match-ups include Mighty Mo vs. Rick Roufus, Seth Petruzelli vs. Xavier Vigney, Dewey Cooper vs. Randy Blake, and Jarrell Miller vs. Jack May.

The event will take place September 8th at the LA Sports Arena.

The line-up for the MAX fights includes Chaz Mulkey vs. Kit Cope, Michael Mananquil vs. Scotty Leffler, Bryce Krause vs. Justin Greskiewicz and Ben Yelle vs. Joey Pagliuso.

The Superfights will feature Lerdsilla Chumpairtour vs. Gabriel Varga, Andy Howson vs. Romie Adanza, Justin Buchholz vs. Zhipeng Zhou and Markhaile Wedderburn vs. Jeremiah Metcalf.
