After a lengthy layoff due to injury, 40 fight plus vet Keith Wisniewski (28-14-1) will return to action, September 4th at the third UFC on FOX Sports card in Brazil.

The promotion has announced that Wisniewski will fight Marcelo Guimares at the card, which will be hosted by the Estadio Jornalista Felipe Drumond in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.

Wisniewski hasn’t fought since last April, when he lost by split decision to Chris Clements at UFC 145. The defeat followed a TKO defeat (via doctor’s stoppage due to cut) Wisniewski incurred versus Josh Neer in October, 2011.

The 31 year-old fighter, who had won six straight prior to the defeats, underwent shoulder surgery last fall. After the procedure, Wisniewski told Full Contact Fighter that he expected to be sidelined 10 months.

Guimares (8-1-1) is coming off a KO loss to Hyun Gyu Lim at UFC on FUEL TV 8 in March, after scoring a split decision over Daniel Stittgen last July.

UFC on FS1 3 will be headlined by a light-heavyweight tilt between Glover Teixeira and Ryan Bader.
