After being sent to the sidelines once again, Khabib Nurmagomedov said he doesn’t know if he’ll fight again, and now he’s reporting that decision’s up to his father.

The 22-0 lightweight was scheduled to fight Tony Ferguson on December 11th at the TUF 22 Finale, but recently Nurmagomedov had to pull out due to a rib injury. The setback was the latest for the lightweight contender. Due to knee injuries, Nurmagomedov hasn’t fought since April, 2014, when he decisioned Rafael dos Anjos.

After this latest withdrawal, Nurmagomedov relayed he’s “not sure if I’ll ever come back”. Now the 27 year-old fighter has posted the following comment on Instagram:

My father plays a very big role in my life and almost all major decisions I made only after consulting with him, I will fight or not depends only on God and on the opinion of my dad, if he tells me – I’m done! but he doesn’t think about this. Blessing of the parents is the most important thing.

The fighter’s father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, is a well respected coach in Dagestan, and has also help develop fighters like Islam Makhachev and Abubakar Nurmagomedov.

Since Khabib Nurmagomedov joined the UFC in 20012 he’s gone 6-0.
